Passed away on September 9, 2021, at the age of 84, Prof. Sira Serenella Macchietti leaves behind a substantial
scientific output (more than 600 articles and 19 monographs) and the testimony of tireless
social commitment for the benefit of girls, boys, and educational institutions for childhood, because education is an essential aspect of human life, as she used to say.
To honor her memory, the University of Foggia, mindful of the scientific, ethical, and social legacy of Sira Serenella Macchietti, has brought together a group of scholars responsible for the essays collected here, some of which were also presented during a seminar held last June.
The volume is therefore born with the contribution of a plurality of Authors:

NICOLA PAPARELLA, Full Professor of Pedagogical Sciences, has taught courses at the University of Salento, the University of Valle d’Aosta, Pegaso Telematic University, and the International University of Rome.
ISABELLA LOIODICE, Full Professor of General and Social Pedagogy, teaches at the University of Foggia where she founded and directs the journal «Me.tis. Mondi educativi. Temi, indagini, suggestioni».
PIERPAOLO LIMONE, Full Professor of Developmental and Educational Psychology, is the current Rector of the University of Foggia, where he had already been Director of the E-learning Center.
GIUSI ANTONIA TOTO, Researcher in Experimental Pedagogy at the University of Foggia, based in the Department of Humanities, Letters, Cultural Heritage, Educational Sciences, where she currently serves as Coordinator of the Degree Course in Psychological Sciences and Techniques.
