The aim of this research is to keep alive the memory and the mark of the existence

of the San Bartolomeo Leprosarium, located along the road between Narni Scalo and San Gemini, which was a precious reference point in the 1400s for lepers, including those returning from the Crusades. However, when one delves into the meanders of history, it is history itself that takes the Author by the hand and leads him among the events that are at the origin of the customs and culture of the resident population.

Amati, taking inspiration from French eco-museums as places for preserving fragments of local history, hopes for the conservative restoration of this monument to restore its proper value, so that anyone moved by this essay, by this tale of men, women, and knights, may feel the desire to visit those places and drink draughts of the past.
