The concepts of "education," "instruction," and "training" represent the basic categorical equipment of current pedagogical research. However, these concepts have, over time, taken on different meanings, which have moreover become intertwined, overlapped, distinguished, juxtaposed, and opposed. And it is in this "impure" and often reworked form that they appear in the language of contemporary pedagogy. This language is therefore not only heterogeneous, fragmented, and inconsistent, but also often vague, undefined, and ambiguous. Hence the reasons for a multi-voiced investigation that brings clarity and order among these concepts and the meanings attributed to them: by analyzing, comparing, and discussing the classes of objects and phenomena of which they are respectively indicators, examining their most significant philological meanings and occurrences, testing and evaluating their heuristic spectrum, establishing their position and role within the universe of pedagogical discourse.
