The pages of this book are the result of observations on how and to what extent people still consider the relationship between their lives and the Ten Commandments to be relevant. The Author deduces that the Ten Words should not be considered as standalone rules nor, much less, as oppressive, but rather as an invitation to reflect for a life choice aimed at protecting the value of the person. In a world where the meaning of words often does not correspond to the actual sense of what one wants to express, the Commandments are Words that urge the person to a deep inner reflection on the meaning of life and how to live it.

Description:
In this essay, the author starts by asking herself: “Are the Commandments still relevant? Should they be considered oppressive rules or prompts for life choices aimed at the defense and recognition of each individual, in their constant relationship with themselves and others?” and thus offers a reflection on how behavior based on responsibility for mutual good gives full meaning to the value of the person and therefore of life. Bernhard Häring's thought on the God-man dialogue, understood not as dependence but as the foundation of responsible freedom for the growth of the person, is, for the Author, a subject of constant study for its relevance.

The value and good inherent in the person carry within themselves the principles of the choices with which one wants to shape life and which will bear witness to the relationship with God. The dialogue between God and man, which unfolds in these Ten Words, is fruitful and a source of joy for us and others. Moreover, Pope Francis has also emphasized how the Commandments are guidelines for making the commitment of life a joyful encounter with God.
